Membership

We are over 490 strong and our strength lies in showing Kern County government and potential developers that we represent a large segment of the community. Adding your name to our growing membership and your tax deductible dues of $12 per family will go a long way toward helping us accomplish our mutual goals. If you would be willing to be of service in other ways, your help would be greatly appreciated. But either way, will you join us?

Join the CVPA because....
  • You agree that Cummings and Brite Valleys are beautiful rural settings which should stay that way.
  • You believe that current zoning, permitting 20-acre estates in most areas of both valleys with limited areas allowing smaller residential parcels, represents the maximum acceptable density.
  • You agree that large billboards and oversized signs do not belong in Cummings and Brite Valleys.
  • You enjoy informative programs dealing with zoning, history, geology, flora and fauna as well as other topics related to the area.
  • Even if you don't have time to participate, the CVPA will represent your views. There is strength in numbers and we need your support!

Your Mail Label

When we send  a newsletter or other mailing we usually ask that you look at your label, top line center, to see when your membership expires. We do this in an effort to save the expense of mailing renewal reminder letters. Our membership year mimics our fiscal year which runs from July 1 through June 30. Thus if your label shows **A*2006** at the top center, your membership runs through June 30, 2006, and we would hope that you will renew before then to remain current.

The top line also shows other information. Starting at the left we show an asterisk, then a number which is your membership number, the record number our database assigned to your record when we entered your membership. Next are 4 asterisks followed by a two or three letter code we use for your property area such as SS for Stallion Springs or BVS for Bear Valley Springs, etc. Next are 2 asterisks followed by a code letter to indicate the status of your membership A for active, N for nonmember/friend such as government official or newspaper,  etc. Next is the 1 asterisk followed by the expire year and 2 more asterisks as explained above. Next we repeat the code for your property area followed by 3 asterisks and the pound or number symbol, #, followed by the label number assigned your label for this mailing printer run, usually printed in Zipcode order. Lastly is another asterisk. So, there you have it - probably more than you ever wanted to know.
